2008 Space Science Bowl to be held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Columbus High School from 8am until 2:30pm. REGISTRATION OPEN FOR THE 2008 SPACE SCIENCE BOWL for Muscogee County Middle Schools! Click HERE to Register for FREE!!! DEADLINE is February 1, 2008. Questions will MOSTLY come from NASA Curriculum Guides. They are posted below for download. Also, format will change to include a written bonus part which will help inexperienced students become competitive. Practice questions and other materials will be sent to schools that register. Registration is FREE and all costs are covered by the Columbus NASA Connections program. NEW this year -- Stomp Rocket Competition After Lunch! Design and Build your own Stomp rocket and compete for furthest distance and longest hangtime. Details sent to schools that register. Middle Schools in Muscogee County are invited to participate in a science competition that is based on science taught in the classroom and also on NASA curriculum. Schools who sign up will be provided copies of the curriculum material from which the NASA questions are taken. The Curriculum guides are now available for download below. WHEN: Saturday, February 23rd -- registration from 7:30am to 8:15am with awards by 2:30pm WHERE: Columbus High School Participating schools will be listed here. Students who participate will be made aware of other NASA programs both in and out of the county. The winning team and runner-up will be awarded trophies and the high scoring student from each team will be recognized. |

Curriculum Guides -- 50-75% of all questions in the Space Science Bowl will come from these Curriculum Guides. The questions avoid specifics with numbers and exact dates. Only the pages specified will be used to draw questions, but feel free to use the activities in the guides in your classroom -- many of them are a lot of fun! The rest of the questions are general science questions that come from Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, and some extra Space/Astronomy questions.
